Aid Distributed to Fire Victims in Cakung Timur

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency and Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) have distributed aid for fire victims on Jalan Irigasi, RT 02/01, Cakung Timur, Cakung Sub-district.

"We hope this assistance can help ease the burden of the fire victims,"

The fire, which broke out at 05:16 AM, destroyed three homes and left three families homeless.

Fire Destroys Three Houses in Cakung Timur

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Acting Head, Suprapto, said the assistance was a response to a request from the local urban village.

"The aid was handed over symbolically to urban village office for direct distribution to residents affected by fire," he said, on Tuesday (11/4).

Suprapto explained that the assistance included clothing and basic goods (natura) such as biscuits, sardines, sweet soy sauce, cooking oil, rice, instant noodles, bottled water, prayer garments, men's and women's underwear, sarongs, track pants, blankets, house dresses, T‑shirts, and adult diapers.

Residents also received household cleaning supplies including brooms, mops, toilet brushes, dustpans, floor‑cleaning liquid, sanitary pads, children's diapers, towels, sandals, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and liquid body soap.

"Jakarta Social Agency also provided additional aid, including cooking oil, sweet soy sauce, sardines, liquid milk, baby formula, and baby porridge. In addition, the Ministry of Social Affairs contributed eight kidsware packages," he added.

Agus Bastian, Head of Public Relations and Communications at East Jakarta PMI, noted that PMI also contributed by providing three staple food packages, three mats, and three blankets.

"We hope this assistance can help ease the burden of the fire victims," he conveyed.

Meanwhile, Slamet Rahardjo, Head of RW 01 in Cakung Timur Urban Village, expressed appreciation for the government and PMI's support.

"Alhamdulillah, the aid has been received and distributed to the fire victims. This assistance greatly helps lighten the burden of those affected by the disaster," he stated.
